The origins of Picnic began with a chance meeting between our co-founders, Jonny Moulton and Paul Coss. A few years back, Paul helped Jonny secure a mortgage after he’d been told ‘no’ by countless brokers — simply because he was self-employed and had a low credit score.

Jonny’s experience wasn’t unusual. So together, he and Paul founded Haysto with a clear mission: to make mortgages possible for people who didn’t fit the traditional mould.

Fast-forward to today, and Haysto has helped more people than any other broker become homeowners after being told 'No' elsewhere, earning a reputation for exceptional customer service along the way.

All this hard work culminated in Haysto recently being named the 'Treating Customers Fairly' Champion at the 2025 British Bank Awards—an accolade received based on the strength of our customers' reviews.
